Questions & Answers
Hopefully we can answer any questions you may have below. If, however, you have a specific enquiry, please don’t hesitate to contact using the button below.
Sessions:
How do sessions work?
Sessions consist of a safety brief, learning how to throw an axe, and managing the scoring system. An instructor will be on lane throughout to ensure you’re having a blast.
Each lane consists of a target, an instructor and up to 6 players for standard lanes, or 5 for our new interactive ChampThrow lanes which are available at some venues.
Bookings:
What’s your capacity?
Each lane can accommodate up to 6 throwers, both for standard lanes, and for our new interactive ChampThrow lanes which are available at some venues.
My group is too large for one lane, can we still play?
Yes, we can still get you throwing but the group will be split across more than one lane. Select your desired start times when making a booking.
Can we book a session outside of the times listed online?
Yes, please contact the site directly and we will work with you to get you on the lanes.
Can I book tickets for today?
Absolutely, if there’s availability! Tickets are usually taken off sale two hours before start time but this can vary by venue.
Do you sell tickets on the door?
Yes, but only if our online tickets haven’t sold out. We strongly recommend booking advance online.
Can I place a deposit or reserve a booking?
No, we only ever take payment in full for bookings upon booking a session. To make payment for a corporate booking please email or phone.
I can’t make the session, can I reschedule?
If you contact us at least 48 hours before your session, we’ll work to find a more suitable time for you.
Do I need to arrive on time?
Yes, we do ask all players to arrive 10 minutes before their session start time to allow for checking in.
On the Day & Safety:
What should I wear?
Players must wear closed-toe shoes that cover the whole foot (no flip flops or sandals). Pro tip: flat shoes are best for throwing in.
Is the venue pet-friendly?
All of our venues are strictly for humans only.
Can we wear fancy dress?
Sure. We only ask you to keep in mind our other guests, if your costume is offensive or causing distress to other players you’ll be asked to remove it.
Do you have parking?
None of our venues have on-site parking.
Is it OK for someone to spectate?
No. Only those with a ticket will be able to enter the venue.
Is axe throwing safe?
Our sessions take place under highly controlled (but still fun) conditions. Axes are only ever thrown down empty, enclosed lanes under the watchful eye of an experienced instructor. As a result of rigorous testing, our axes and flooring have both been designed to reduce any unwanted bounces. Safety is our highest priority and we are continually reviewing and updating our practices to prevent any dangerous situations before they occur.
Can we drink alcohol beforehand?
We strongly advise against drinking alcohol beforehand. Should our instructors believe you’re behaving in an unsafe manner you’ll be relegated to a spectator role for the remainder of the session and no refund will be given.
Is this for 18’s and over only?
No, anyone over 10 can play.
Can I play if I’m pregnant?
Axe throwing is a relatively low-intensity activity so there is no reason why you can not play. If you have any concerns please consult a doctor. If you are in the third trimester of your pregnancy, or up to 6-months post-partum, we strongly suggest speaking with your midwife or doctor before booking.
Also, congratulations!
Corporate hire:
Can we book the whole venue?
Of course. Reach out to the site you want to visit so we can help you out with that. Our team are pretty nifty and will usually get back to you within 24 hours.
